About the Event
Siddhartha Bhose, starting his initial training under Pandit Partho Sarothy, a leading disciple of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar. He later pursued Sarod under the tutelage of Pandit Soumitra Lahiri, a leading disciple of Pandit Manilal Nag. Presently he has been taking lessons from Guru Pandit Partha Chatterjee.
After completion of his PG in Physics from University Of Calcutta, Siddhartha devoted his full time in practicing Sarod. His innate flair for the instrument and mastery over the finer nuances of music, taal and laya are highly acclaimed and appreciated by legendary personalities as Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Pandit Buddhadev Dasgupta.
Asif Khan was born as child prodigy to a family of great musicians whose heritage goes back to the late 11th century AD of MIR AKASA lineage. He is one of the youongest amongst the renowned Tabla Players of the country and at a young age his incredible dextricity, richness, superb tonal quality and maturity surpirise any listener. His great-grand father Late Ustad Masit Khan, Grand Father Late Ustad Karamtullah Khan and Father Ustad Sabir Khan are the most celebrated Tabla Players in the history of Indian Classical Music.
Asif belongs to 'Farukkhabad Gharana'. He started intensive training from his father Ustad Sabir Khan. He is a national scholarship awardee as well as recipient of gold medal from Nikhil Bharati Sangeet Samiti and Prayag Sangeet Samiti. He has accompanied great maestros like Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Sujjat Khan to name a few.
Asif has worked as an assistant director for Music Director Duo Sajid-Wajid and Javed-Mosin. He has given Rhythm Score (Tabla) for famous movies like - Main Hoon Na, Dabang-I & 2, Daawat-e-Ishq, Veer Zara.
Asif is a also a All India Radio graded artist.
