Tabla Solo Recital by Asok Chakraborty

Asok Chkraborty belongs to family with strong musical background. He began his training in tabla under the tutelage of Shri Madhusudan Ghosh. Thereafter, he took advanced training from none other than tabla maestro Pandit Gyan Prakash Ghosh of Farukkhabad Gharana. After that he also took training from Pandit Abhijit Banerjee. Asok is a Commerce (Hons) graduate from the University of Calcutta and is a Post Graduate in music (Tabla) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He is a regular performer of the AIR and Doordarshan and has been performing all over India. He participated in several prestigious concerts in India like Sunday Night Concerts of AIR Sangeet Sammelan, Thyagaraja Music Festival, Chhandayan Annual Conference, Gandhar Music Conference, SPIC MACKAY, Bhawanipore Sangeet Sammelan. He has also performed extensively in Russia, Germany, London, Austria and Netherland. Currently Asok is working at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata as an Accompanist Teacher.
